This was the most enjoyable. I enjoyed this course, it took my writing into unexpected directions.

This module is expected to start for the last time in October Should you do this course? This did not come naturally, but learning it was like learning to do cryptic crosswords, starting with the idea and then fitting words around it, thinking about the sounds and shapes of the words and trying to express ideas as economically as possible.
Moderately useful, but I found it just as easy to type or write a list of the idea words in a line, deleting them as I incorporated them into the piece of writing. It also introduces you to sestinas, villanelles, and the like; poetry forms I have to admit I never knew existed and not being a poet as such, they can go back into non-existance thank you very much.

There is very little so supportive, encouraging, and downright enthusiastic as a bunch of OU Creative Writing students. Some people struggled with the new techniques they were learning and my forum was pretty quiet but set against that was a great course structure the necessity of sustaining an idea over two and even three modules and a fantastic tutor.
I wrote a story set at Heathrow T5, about a woman waiting to meet a man who is never going to return.
I decided to go ahead and am delighted I did - I feel the course has benefitted my writing in so many ways. This course is good for trying different genres of writing plays, screen play for tv and film, radio play scripts and the DVD was very good.
The weekly activities were creatively inspiring and feedback from the tutor was very useful. I have become a much more critical reader and viewer.
